2019-05-16The 14th Hong Kong Joint Primary School Mathematics Competition (North District)
Congratulations to P6 students RONG SEN YEUNG HEI, YE CHIT HAM KEVIN and XIONG JUN XIANG for winning the bronze award in the 14th Hong Kong Joint Primary School Mathematics Competition (North District). In addition, six P6 students also won merit certificates.
2019-05-16STEM Learning Fair 2019
Seventeen students from our school participated in the STEM Learning Fair 2019 co-organized by Pak Kau College and iFuture. Altogether they took part in three different events and won excellent results in each competition.

In order to enrich our students' learning experience, the Maths department held a "Multiplication Competition" for the P2 to P3 students. During the process, all the students enjoyed themselves.
2019-05-11TWGHs North District Schools English Reading Ambassador Scheme (ERAS)

The five Tung Wah schools in North District (Kap Yan Directors’ College, Li Ka Shing College, Ma Kam Chan Memorial Primary School, Hong Kong & Kowloon Electrical Appliances Merchants Association Ltd. School and Tsui Tsin Tong Kindergarten) have jointly organized the English Ambassador Scheme to widen students’horizons in English learning. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals North District Joint Schools English Funfair was organized to celebrate students’learning on 11th May. There were drama performances and game booths based on the famous story Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Also, there were music and dance performances from five schools.

2019-05-08TWGHs Joint Primary Schools STEM Competition

On 6th April, STEM elites from 14 TWGHs Primary Schools gathered in our school hall to participate in the joint-school STEM competition. The competition was divided into two rounds. Apart from having to strategically control the mBot cars, students also needed to program the mBot cars using Micro:bit in order to strive for the higher scores. Everyone was well-prepared and they challenged and learnt from one another. On that day, P6 students TO SAI KIN, WANG YU TUNG, WANG YUEN TING and YANG SHU XUAN participated in the competition. They won the third place in the first round, came fourth in the second round and finally won the overall 1st runner-up. Congratulations to all the prize winners.

2019-05-05STEAM Science and Technology Day

A group of students participated in the STEAM Science and Technology Day on 13th April. On that day, students participated in the making of solar cars and power boats. They also conducted tests and competitions with their products. The students were so excited and they look forward to joining this event again next year.

2019-05-05Tour on the missile destroyer Haikou and the missile frigate Huangshan

On May 1st, the school was invited to go to Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base to join the open day of the missile destroyer Haikou and the missile frigate Huangshan. The students were very enthusiastic about boarding the two warships.

2019-05-04Information on 2019 - 2020 (First Term) Application for Transfer Admission

The application for transfer admission of the 2019-2020 (First Term) is now closed. The school will notify candidates who are eligible for the written test on or before May 17, 2019. The written test for transferred applicants is expected to take place in the afternoon of June 3, 2019. Students who perform well in the written test will be invited for an interview. The school will announce the results before June 28, 2019.

2019-05-02The 71st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival - Primary School Choir Competition
On 11th March, the school choir went to the Tai Po Civic Centre to participate in the 71st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival Primary School Choir Competition. After months of practice and preparation, our group of music-loving students performed two songs in the competition and won the first prize!
2019-05-02The 71st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival – Percussion Band Competition
Our school’s junior percussion band went to Tuen Mun Town Hall on 6th March to participate in the 71st Music Festival competition. Under the guidance of the band instructor, our band members performed their piece “A Taste of the Classics” successfully and won the first prize! Congratulations!
2019-05-02Joint School Music Competition 2019 – String Orchestra
On March 19th, the school’s String Orchestra went to the Y Theatre to participate in the Joint School Music Competition 2019 and won the Silver Award. We would like to thank our conductor for helping our students improve their techniques.
2019-04-26Zhengzhou and Xian Exchange Study Tour

From April 14th to 17th, our school held an exchange study tour to Zhengzhou and Xian. Principal Fung, teachers and students, a total of 35 participants, went to our school's sister school, Zhengzhou University Experimental Primary School for a visit. Later, teachers and students went to Xian to go sightseeing. This exchange programme widened the students' horizons as they were able to learn more about the history of China and its development. It was a truly valuable experience for students as they learnt to be more independent and caring towards one another.

2019-04-18The Naming Ceremony of the Wong Wha San Family Computer Room

The naming ceremony of the Wong Wha San Family Computer Room was held on 29th March, 2019. Mr. WONG Yin Chi, the Chairman of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals cum honorary supervisor, was invited to officiate the ceremony. The unveiling ceremony of the signage of the Wong Wha San Family Computer Room was hosted by Chairman Mr. WONG Yin Chi, Chairman Mr. Senta WONG, Vice Chairman Mr. MA Ching Yeung, Director Mr. WONG Chung Yin, Director Ms. YAN Zi, Director Mr. TSENG Hing Fai and the representatives of the Wong Wha San Family. It was a great ceremony.

2019-04-13The 13th Speaking Contest for Hong Kong Students

A total of 27 students participated in the competition this year. This competition helps students improve their thinking, communication and social skills. 2019-04-12World Book Day

Our school celebrated World Book Day on 12th April. In addition to the Book Crossing activity and book fairs, there were also some theme-based activities on Chinese culture held in the hall. We hope to enhance our students' interest in Chinese history and deepen their understanding of the Chinese culture through all these activities. There will also be a Chinese history theme-based book exhibition in the school library to give students a deeper understanding of the Chinese culture.

2019-03-18The 55th Schools Dance Festival – Children Dance

Our school’s dance team participated in the 55th School Dance Festival on 8th March. Our P.1-3 team members joined the lower primary school Children Dance category and were awarded a B Grade Award. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our principal for her encouragement, to our PE teachers for their continuous guidance and to the parents for their support.

Our school’s dance team participated in the 55th School Dance Festival on 6th March. Our P.4-6 team members joined the upper primary school Western Dance category and were awarded a B Grade Award. The MKC Sports Day was held on 1st March. The weather was perfect. Two new records were set this year. We hope that our students will continue to try their best and keep improving in the coming year.

The 2018-2019 First Term Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 27th February, 2019. Congratulations to the award winners! We look forward to seeing more students receiving awards next term.

2019-03-03"Tell-a-Tale" Children's Storytelling Competition2018/19

A total of 145 students from our school joined the “Tell-a-Tale” children's storytelling competition sponsored by Teacup Productions. We first conducted an on-campus selection and 22 outstanding students were recommended to participate in the preliminary round held on 27th February. During the preliminary round, six outstanding students were then screened to compete in the final round. The six students are now preparing to compete with students from other schools all over Hong Kong. The teachers and judges appreciate all the hard work of all the participating students and hope that the students who enter the final round will make the most of their talents!

2019-02-27The Community Chest Charity Green Walk

On 16th February, 14 of our Community Youth Club members participated in the Community Chest Charity Green Walk organized by the Community Youth Club North District Committee. Our students walked along the river under the warm weather. They got to look at the beautiful scenery and raised money for the needy. A big thank you to all the parents for their kind donations, and to all the teachers, office staff and janitors for their assistance in making it happen.

2019-02-25P.6 Education Camp

Our P6 students attended an exciting 3 day and 2 night education camp in Cheung Chau. They did a project on the Environment, visited Cheung Po Tsai Cave and had night parties. Through this camp, students learnt to care for each other, appreciate each other and learn from each other. After visiting some scenic spots in Cheung Chau, they also learned the importance of environmental protection. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to both the coaches of The Caritas Jockey Club Ming Fai Camp and Oi Fai Camp and to the teachers for their assistance.

2019-02-25Mainland Exchange Programme (Dongguan) Study Tour

Our P5 students joined the Mainland Exchange Programme (Dongguan) Study Tour on 29th-30th January, 2019. During the study tour, students learned about the Revolution of 1911, the biography of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, the struggle of Mr. Sun's reform ideals and his contributions to the country. Through studying the history of the destruction of opium at Humen, students learned about the importance of protecting our country and never giving up. Students also learned to take care of, share with and to love one another. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the EDB, the staff of Wofoo Social Enterprises and to the teachers for their kind assistance.

A new school term has begun! It is fantastic to see all the happy faces on the school campus again. We hope all our students can continue to do their best in the coming term.

2019-02-16Read & Share Project

Our school participated in the Read & Share Project of the SHKP Reading Club. One of the activities was “Our STEM Living” and they invited some overseas exchange students of the AFS Intercultural Exchanges to visit our school on February 16th. Two AFS students from Finland and Sweden talked with our students about the local life culture and what they had learned in the STEM class. The students enjoyed listening to the sharing by the two exchange students and deepened their understanding of school life in Northern Europe.

2019-02-16PTA Local Guided Tour

On February 16th, 62 parents and students participated in a Local Guided Tour under the North District Signature Project Scheme organised by the North District Office. That day we joined a guided tour led by four experienced geological park guides to Kat O and Ap Chau. In addition to learning about local geomorphology and other geological knowledge, the tour guides also explained the culture and history of Kat O and the Ap Chau to us. Students could also make tea pots by themselves. This journey made us realize that "Traveling thousands of miles is better than reading thousands of books." We sincerely thank the staff and guides of the North District Office for their thoughtful arrangement and explanation.

2019-02-01Adventure-based Training Workshop for Prefects

Through adventure-based group activities, students learnt about the importance of building team spirit, mutual trust and how to deal with a crisis situation. Students put in a lot of effort and enjoyed the activities. Throughout the activities, they showed respect to one another and learnt to cooperate better. We hope that the students participating students will be able to take relevant skills from the workshop and can then apply them with their classmates at school. 2019-01-31PTA Trip

The first PTA trip of the year was held on 26th January, 2019. About 300 students and parents joined the event. Everyone had the chance to relax and have fun. Students and parents immersed themselves in nature, they looked at some cute animals and went bowling together afterwards. After having a delicious lunch at the Lung Wah Hotel, they went to a farm, made pizza and enjoyed it on the spot. The activities throughout the day were so much fun! Everyone had a great time!

2019-01-25PTA visits the Yakult Factory

Primary 1-4 students went to the Yakult Factory in Tai Po on January 18th, 21st and 22nd with their parents. Everyone was excited to learn about the making of the Yakult drinks and the packaging process. Parents and students even learned about the importance of intestinal health through a staff presentation. Everyone had a great time!

2019-01-14TWGHs Joint Primary School Soccer Competition

The TWGHs Joint Primary School Soccer Competition was held on 2nd December. There were six categories of competitions (Boys: senior, intermediate, junior and Girls: senior, intermediate, junior). A total of 113 teams (71 boys’ teams and 42 girls’ teams) took part in the event. Our school was represented by 8 teams, 4 boys’ and 4 girls’ teams, with a total number of 59 students taking part in the games. After the long battles, all 8 of our football teams advanced to the top 8 of the competition and achieved numerous team and individual outstanding results. (See “Achievement” for more details) We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our principal for her encouragement, to our PE teachers for their continuous guidance, to our accompanying teachers for their assistance and to the parents for their support (especially to the fifty parents who watched the games in the field).

2019-01-102018-2019 North District Area Inter-Primary School Athletics Competition

Our school’s athletes joined the North District Area Inter-Primary School Athletics Competition on December 6th and 7th, 2018. Our team received the following awards: one Champion, one 1st Runner-up, one 3rd Runner-up, one Record-breaking Prize and one Outstanding Student Athlete Award. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our principal for her encouragement, to the parents for their support and to the teachers and staff for their assistance.

2018-12-21The MTR Little Regulator Activity

Forty parents and students joined the MTR Little Regulator activity on 16th December, 2018. They visited the workplace of the MTR regulators, learned about the daily operation of the MTR trains, and even entered the control room of the MTR trains. It was such an eye-opening experience. The students dressed up as MTR Little Regulators and distributed "safety" stickers to the passengers at the MTR Tai Wo station lobby. They also used the "stop" signs. Everyone was so enthusiastic!

2018-12-012018 K-Bot Mini Car Competition

Nine of our P.4 and P.5 students joined the 2018 K-Bot Mini Car Competition organized by DLS Secondary School. Our students were put into three teams of three and all three of the teams did well during the competition. One of the teams won the third runner-up. Congratulations!

2018-11-26Visit from teachers and students from Shanghai JinCai Experimental Primary School

We are pleased to receive an exchange group from Shanghai Jincai Experimental Primary School. Their headmaster, 8 teachers and 24 students came to visit our school on 26th November, 2018. First, a welcoming ceremony was held in the hall. Then the students had lessons with our P5 students and a football match with our school football team. A good rapport was developed between the two schools.

2018-11-152019 Territory-wide Young Children’s English Song Singing Contest

On November 10th, our school held a district selection competition for the 2019 Territory-wide Young Children’s English Song Singing Contest. A total of 18 kindergartens participated in the contest. In order to win the performance, the children all wore beautiful costumes and had many props with them. The judges could tell that they had spent a lot of effort on their performances and the level of performance was very high. In the end, Mink Anglo-Chinese Kindergarten / Mink International Pre-School won the Gold Award and will now be representing the North District and Tai Po in the finals of the Territory-wide Young Children’s English Song Singing Contest on January 19, 2019. Here, I would like to thank all the participating schools for their support during the event.

2018-11-15PTA visits The Future of Living Expo

Our PTA held a visit to The Future of Living Expo on 10th November. The exhibition was hosted by Shun Hing Group. There are four exhibition sites and the parents were most interested in the old household products section while the students were most interested in exploring the new technologies and game-changing innovation for Smart Living sections.

2018-11-15Hong Kong Technology & Renewable Energy Events 2018

The Hong Kong Technology & Renewable Energy Event 2018 was held on November 10th in the Science Park. Our P.6 students Huang Tak Lung and Huang Ka Yiu won runner-up in the solar model car competition, while Tsang Tsz Wai, Ng Lok Hang and So Tsz Sin were awarded third place in the model ship competition. Congratulations to all the students who won. In addition, these students also joined the InnoCarnival 2018. They learnt about how various creative technologies can facilitate human life, such as coin sorting machines, smart belts and so on. After the eye-opening event, the students have increased their interest in studying science.

2018-11-12TWGHs Joint Primary Schools Sports Day

Our athletes participated in TWGHs Joint Primary Schools Sports Day on 30th October and won multiple awards including three gold medals, three 1st runner-ups, five 2nd runner-ups, two 3rd runner-ups and one record-breaking prize. 2018-11-12The kick-off ceremony for “Fun to Move@JC”

The kick-off ceremony for “Fun to Move@JC” was successfully completed on October 24, 2018. The event was held simultaneously at the Ching Shing Campus and the Choi Yuen Annex Campus. On that day, more than 200 parents joined the event and witnessed 41 students being appointed as "Child Ambassadors". They will help the school carry out different activities. All the students are encouraged to perform morning exercises. I hope that parents and classmates will actively support this activity and practice a healthy and active lifestyle together.

2018-11-09The PTA Annual General Meeting

The PTA Annual General Meeting was held on November 9, 2018 and was well attended by a lot of parents. During the meeting, different annual reports were reviewed and Certificates of appreciation were presented to the 2017/2018 parent volunteers. There was a seminar for the parents and we were honored to invite the social worker, Ms. Lo Yuen Ping from TWGHs Parents Academy as our guest speaker. Ms. Lo taught us how to motivate children through games and introduced a couple of interesting Parent-child mini games to us. This seminar was seen as really useful by the parents.

2018-11-02All HK Inter-Primary School 5-a-side Football Competition 2018-2019

Our school’s boys’ and girls’ football teams participated in the All HK Inter-Primary School 5-a-side Football Competition 2018-2019 during 8th-22nd October. Our boys’ team got 3rd runner-up out of 167 teams. Our girls’ team also made it to the top 16 teams. We hope that our boys and girls will continue to strive for their best and that this experience will lead them to more victories.

We were invited to set up booths in CCC Kei Chun Primary School to promote the environment protection concept of “Less Plastic”.

2018-10-29Halloween Activities

Students celebrated Halloween by wearing funny costumes and going trick-or-treating at school. They also recited some Halloween chants and watched some Halloween cartoons during lunch. Most of our students dressed up for the Best Costume Competition. What a happy day!

2018-10-22Smart Energy Award 2018

Congratulations! Our school was awarded the Effective Renewable Energy Connections CLP Smart Energy Award for 2018. The Smart Energy Award was developed to recognize leadership from different trades and organizations in the shift toward a smarter and greener energy environment. It is our hope that the award will motivate us to achieve further results in energy saving.
