2019-07-15TWGHs Flag Day Notice

TWGHs Flag Day 2019 will be on 31st August. Students and parents who have applied for the flag-selling activity should go to the school hall to collect the flag-selling equipment at 7:45 am on that day. Students should wear school uniforms or sportswear. The whole activity will end at about 12:00 pm.

2019-07-11Used and Retired Bus Programme

Our school applied for and was given a retired bus in July through the Used and Retired Bus Programme from the Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd. Our school plans to reconstruct it into a new and interesting place to learn and play. Let us look forward to the day when the bus is re-born!

2019-07-10The North District Outstanding Students Election 2018-2019
This year, five students from the lower primary category and five students from the upper primary category participated in the competition. In addition to attending interviews, students used their leadership skills and teamwork spirit to accomplish different tasks. Congratulations to P6 student RONG SEN YEUNG HEI for winning first prize in the Elites in Mathematics Competition 2018/19 (Primary). What’s more, six students got second prize and one student got third prize.

2019-07-10The 26th Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad School Competition (P2-P6)
Congratulations to P2 TU KEVIN, P3 MO MAN TIK SKY, SIU CHI PANG and P6 RONG SEN YEUNG HEI for earning the Gold Award in The 26th Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad School Competition (P2-P6). Also, there are 8 students who got the Silver Award and 19 students who got the Bronze Award.
2019-07-10MathConceptition 2019
Congratulations to P2 student, QIN YAN KIU, who won 2nd runner-up in " MathConceptition 2019". Also, three students won the Gold Award, seven students won Silver Awards and two students won Bronze Awards. For the group awards, the school’s P2 team won 2nd runner-up and the P3 team won 1st runner-up in their respective categories. The P4 and P5 teams won Merit.
2019-07-08Mainland Exchange Programme (Guangzhou) Study Tour

Our P4 students joined the Mainland Exchange Programme (Guangzhou) Study Tour on 21st June, 2019. During the study tour, students learned about the latest urban planning in Guangzhou, the developmental advantages of the Guangdong province, including Hong Kong and Macau, and experienced the fun of organic farming. During the process, the students learned to take care of one another. It was such a special learning opportunity.

2019-07-08North District Inter-School Swimming Competition
The school swimming team participated in the North District Inter-School Swimming Competition on May 20th. P6 CHEN TSZ YAM, P6 LI TSZ YIU and P2 CHOW HO YIN won two individual champions each. P6 CHEN TSZ YAM even broke the record in the boys’ A Team 100 metre breaststroke! Also, the boys' C Team won the 4 x 50m free relay championship and won the men's C Team overall championship.
2019-07-05Fun and Food Festival

One of our most popular year-end activities – the Fun and Food Festival was held on 28th June, 2019. Students had so much fun playing English games, receiving body paintings and enjoying snacks and dim sum. A big thank-you to the teachers, parents and English Ambassadors who helped out in the festival.

2019-07-05Elite Team Talk

On 24th June, 2019, our school welcomed four police officers to come and speak for the elite teams. The officers came from the Traffic and Road Safety divisions and gave a talk on road safety and what it is like to work as a police officer. Students learned about police gear, answered questions and were able to take photos with the officers and their motorcycle. It was a thoroughly enjoyable activity for everyone.

After looking at the photos, I am sure you want to sing and dance with our students! Students were so passionate and they performed so well which gave the adjudicators a hard time to choose the winners. There are two sessions for the MKC English Singing Contest. The first session is for Primary 2-3 students and the second session is for Primary 4-6 students. 2019-07-02Environmental Protection Workshops

Our school invited different environmental protection agencies, such as PRAISE-HK and Food For Good and Heroes Too, to conduct different types of workshops for the school’s Environmental Protection Ambassadors. Students learnt about farming and they met up with foreigners who also care a lot about environmental protection. We hope that these experiences helped our students cultivate a habit of saving energy and cherishing things.

2019-06-27The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) Mathematics Assessment 2019

Congratulations to P3 Kong Lok Shing and Siu Chi Pang, P4 Liu Yu Heng, P5 Wong Yiu Hang and P6 Rong Sen Yeung Hei, Wang Yuen Ting and Yan Zi Xiang were awarded "High Distinction" in the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) Mathematics Assessment 2019. Twenty students also received "Distinction". Fifty-one students received the "Credit" and 12 students obtained the "Merit".

2019-06-25“Connecting Students with Nature Through STEAM” Programme

On June 19th, P3 students and teachers went to Ocean Park and participated in the “Connecting Students with Nature Through STEAM” Programme. Students observed and recorded the color of different plants and the shape of the leaves to understand the importance of plant diversity in maintaining an ecological balance. In addition, students learnt that the color of the animals was originally designed for survival. After the event, students were deeply impressed and everyone had a great day!

2019-06-12All HK Inter-Area Primary Schools Athletics Competition

Our athletes participated in the All HK Inter-Area Primary Schools Athletics Competition on 1st March. P5 MAK TSZ YIN DANIEL received the Boys B 200m 2nd runner-up, 4x100m 1st runner-up and also the Boys B Team 1st runner-up. P5 XU CHING LAAM came eighth in the Girls B high jump competition. 2019-06-03TWGHs Joint Primary Schools Swimming Gala

Our school’s swimming team joined the TWGHs Joint Schools Swimming Gala on 9th May. For the individual awards, our students won six 1st place finishes and received two 1st runner-up awards and four 2nd runner-up awards. P6 CHEN TSZ YAM, LI TSZ YIU and P2 CHOW HO YIN performed especially well that day. For the team awards, we also won one champion and two 1st runner-up awards. The Boys C Team also won the overall Team Champion award. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our principal for her encouragement, to our PE teachers for their continuous guidance, to our accompanying teachers for their assistance and to the parents for their support.

2019-05-05STEAM Science and Technology Day

A group of students participated in the STEAM Science and Technology Day on 13th April. On that day, students participated in the making of solar cars and power boats. They also conducted tests and competitions with their products. The students were so excited and they look forward to joining this event again next year.

2019-05-05Tour on the missile destroyer Haikou and the missile frigate Huangshan

On May 1st, the school was invited to go to Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base to join the open day of the missile destroyer Haikou and the missile frigate Huangshan. The students were very enthusiastic about boarding the two warships.

2019-04-18The Naming Ceremony of the Wong Wha San Family Computer Room

The naming ceremony of the Wong Wha San Family Computer Room was held on 29th March, 2019. Mr. WONG Yin Chi, the Chairman of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals cum honorary supervisor, was invited to officiate the ceremony. The unveiling ceremony of the signage of the Wong Wha San Family Computer Room was hosted by Chairman Mr. WONG Yin Chi, Chairman Mr. Senta WONG, Vice Chairman Mr. MA Ching Yeung, Director Mr. WONG Chung Yin, Director Ms. YAN Zi, Director Mr. TSENG Hing Fai and the representatives of the Wong Wha San Family. It was a great ceremony.

The MKC Sports Day was held on 1st March. The weather was perfect. Two new records were set this year. We hope that our students will continue to try their best and keep improving in the coming year.

2019-02-27The Community Chest Charity Green Walk

On 16th February, 14 of our Community Youth Club members participated in the Community Chest Charity Green Walk organized by the Community Youth Club North District Committee. Our students walked along the river under the warm weather. They got to look at the beautiful scenery and raised money for the needy. A big thank you to all the parents for their kind donations, and to all the teachers, office staff and janitors for their assistance in making it happen.

2019-02-25P.6 Education Camp

Our P6 students attended an exciting 3 day and 2 night education camp in Cheung Chau. They did a project on the Environment, visited Cheung Po Tsai Cave and had night parties. Through this camp, students learnt to care for each other, appreciate each other and learn from each other. After visiting some scenic spots in Cheung Chau, they also learned the importance of environmental protection. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to both the coaches of The Caritas Jockey Club Ming Fai Camp and Oi Fai Camp and to the teachers for their assistance.

2019-02-25Mainland Exchange Programme (Dongguan) Study Tour

Our P5 students joined the Mainland Exchange Programme (Dongguan) Study Tour on 29th-30th January, 2019. During the study tour, students learned about the Revolution of 1911, the biography of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, the struggle of Mr. Sun's reform ideals and his contributions to the country. Through studying the history of the destruction of opium at Humen, students learned about the importance of protecting our country and never giving up. Students also learned to take care of, share with and to love one another. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the EDB, the staff of Wofoo Social Enterprises and to the teachers for their kind assistance.

2019-01-14TWGHs Joint Primary School Soccer Competition

The TWGHs Joint Primary School Soccer Competition was held on 2nd December. There were six categories of competitions (Boys: senior, intermediate, junior and Girls: senior, intermediate, junior). A total of 113 teams (71 boys’ teams and 42 girls’ teams) took part in the event. Our school was represented by 8 teams, 4 boys’ and 4 girls’ teams, with a total number of 59 students taking part in the games. After the long battles, all 8 of our football teams advanced to the top 8 of the competition and achieved numerous team and individual outstanding results. (See “Achievement” for more details) We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our principal for her encouragement, to our PE teachers for their continuous guidance, to our accompanying teachers for their assistance and to the parents for their support (especially to the fifty parents who watched the games in the field).

2018-11-12The kick-off ceremony for “Fun to Move@JC”

The kick-off ceremony for “Fun to Move@JC” was successfully completed on October 24, 2018. The event was held simultaneously at the Ching Shing Campus and the Choi Yuen Annex Campus. On that day, more than 200 parents joined the event and witnessed 41 students being appointed as "Child Ambassadors". They will help the school carry out different activities. All the students are encouraged to perform morning exercises. I hope that parents and classmates will actively support this activity and practice a healthy and active lifestyle together.

2018-11-09The PTA Annual General Meeting

The PTA Annual General Meeting was held on November 9, 2018 and was well attended by a lot of parents. During the meeting, different annual reports were reviewed and Certificates of appreciation were presented to the 2017/2018 parent volunteers. There was a seminar for the parents and we were honored to invite the social worker, Ms. Lo Yuen Ping from TWGHs Parents Academy as our guest speaker. Ms. Lo taught us how to motivate children through games and introduced a couple of interesting Parent-child mini games to us. This seminar was seen as really useful by the parents.

2018-11-02All HK Inter-Primary School 5-a-side Football Competition 2018-2019

Our school’s boys’ and girls’ football teams participated in the All HK Inter-Primary School 5-a-side Football Competition 2018-2019 during 8th-22nd October. Our boys’ team got 3rd runner-up out of 167 teams. Our girls’ team also made it to the top 16 teams. We hope that our boys and girls will continue to strive for their best and that this experience will lead them to more victories.

Congratulations! Our school was awarded the Effective Renewable Energy Connections CLP Smart Energy Award for 2018. The Smart Energy Award was developed to recognize leadership from different trades and organizations in the shift toward a smarter and greener energy environment.
